The word ‘Restricted’ refers to these areas which are closed for foreigners to trek or may be opened to trek if Nepal police, Army, of liaison officer provide permit to trek over there. Some of the areas are reopened for trekking which was restricted in past. The immigration office rules now state that “Trekkers are not allowed to trek in the notified areas previously known as restricted.” So you need to pay for special permit to trek and prepare yourself with entire necessary equipments. Mainly, there are no longer restricted areas but some are exist to protect environmental and cultural heritages by effort of Nepal Nature Conservation Society (NNS). There are some political reasons to exist restricted areas. In 1970s, for example the Jomsom trek was closed because a major foreign aided military operation had been mounted there in support of the Khampas in Tibet. Therefore, you are not allowed to trek in such areas because it doubts that it could provide the security that trekkers need.
In October 1991, the Government of Nepal announced the opening of restricted areas but many parts in which the entry of foreigners is strictly controlled. You are suggested to carry cooking and camping equipments as there are no more lodges. Therefore, our company provides you the best tourist spot from where you can get many exciting and fabulous mountain views even in these areas. You will be offered wild evens trips too by a company of liaison officer and you must trek in group in those areas. You will have great fun and deep experience as you get good looks in those restricted areas where only few lucky people reach.
