Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is a short trekking route in the region of Annapurna circuit which is immensely popular amongst the visiting tourists. The trek leads to Poon Hill and hence the trek is named as the Poon Hill Trek. Annapurna has been listed as one of best trekking routes in the world and it comes as no surprise that the trekking route attracts a huge number of tourists, domestic and international, every year. The towering mountains, the high hills and the great scenery in offer attract many trekkers to this pristine region of natural beauty. It has been planned for an itinerary lasting 10 days. The best time for the trek is between the months of January and May and also during September-December. Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is one of the easiest treks available in Nepal that allows some of the greatest views of the Annapurna Range without having to climb too much of the altitude. On the way to Poon Hill, you will come across dense forests of Rhododendron and some of the ethnic Magar villages. The top of Poon Hill offers unforgettable view of the sunrise while the Himalayas form the backdrop of the scene. The maximum elevation reached on this trek is 3210 meters which is at the Poon Hill.
Along the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, trekkers will also come across places like Tikhe Dhunga, Ghorepani Tadapani andGhandruk which are also equally beautiful in their own ways. After a short sightseeing tour of the various world heritage sites in and around Kathmandu Valley, the tourists are taken to the beautiful Pokhara city. Poon Hill Trek formally commences from Tikhe Dhunga which is nearby Pokhara. It is replete with many dense bamboo forests, phenomenal waterfalls that appear to emerge from with the crevices in the hills. Ghorepani is popular for the breathtaking views of the Himalayan Mountain Range and also for the magnificent view of the sunrise. The trek is most suitable and almost ideal for those tourists who do not want much of physical labor and yet desire to explore the natural beauty on offer in Nepal.
