Emerging as an alternative to the classical treks in Khumbu Region, Gokyo Lake Cho-La Pass Trekfollows the least travelled trail towards Gokyo Valley which allows the spectacular views of four colossal snow-capped mountains over 8000m altitude including the World’s tallest Mountain-the Mount Everest, Mount Cho Oyu, Makalu, Lhotse and Amadablam offering better views than from Kalapatthar and on the top of that Gokyo Lake Treks demand much less physical strain and the reward is very much overwhelming.
Treading to the enchanting turquoise and grandeur of Gokyo Lake, having an eyeful view of the pretty Gokyo Valley, enjoying the soaring view of the gigantic Gokyo Ri Peak, savoring the view of the largest glacier in Himalayas, Ngozumpa Glacier stretching itself between Cho Oyu and Gyachung, moving down the verdant forests of blooming alpine flowers including rhododendron and walking through the Highland Villages of Sherpa ethnics with seer luck of familiarizing with their customs and traditions are some of the major attractions of the Gokyo Lake Trek and the Cho-La Pass Trek.
The combined itinerary of Gokyo Lake and Cho-La Pass Trek makes it possible for the trekkers to view and enjoy the beauty of the amazing and beautiful Gokyo Lake and also the popular Cho-La Pass during one single trekking itinerary which lasts for around 18 days. The short and concise ‘Gokyo Lake Trek’ package begins with a flight to Tenzing Hilary Airport at Lukla from Kathmandu. Lukla is the starting point of the trekking which then proceeds to the village of Phakding. Continuing through the lively marketplace at Namche Bazaar, the gateway of Khumbu region, the trail then passes through several Highland Sherpa Villages prior to winding up at the beautiful Valley of Gokyo. The return trip runs through the village of Machhermo to Lukla.
